How many of you have been praying for something that only God can provide — a child, a healing, a job, the salvation of a lost loved one — and you’re still waiting for that prayer to be answered?
Please don’t be discouraged by the wait. God has not forgotten you.
In his book Bread Crumbs, Loren Larson writes, “He [God] is out to prove to us that even when it appears He is far too late, the truth is, our God has always been and always will be, right on time.”
Take Hannah for example. In 1 Samuel 1, we meet a woman who desperately wanted a child but was unable to conceive — a heartbreak that followed her year after year.
Every year Hannah and her husband traveled to Shiloh to offer sacrifice. While there, Hannah went to the temple and poured out her heart to God. Her prayer is recorded in 1 Samuel 1:11:
“O Lord of Hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your handmaid and remember me, and not forget Your handmaid, but will give unto Your handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the Lord all the days of his life.”
The Lord heard her. Through the high priest Eli, He responded in 1 Samuel 1:17:
“Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition that you have asked of Him.”
And in verse 19, we see that God answered. Hannah conceived. Once her son Samuel was weaned, she gave him back to the Lord to serve in the temple — and God blessed her with even more children after that.
We don’t know exactly how long Hannah prayed for a child, or whether she feared she was running out of time, the way Sarah once did. But we do know this — she didn’t give up. She kept praying. She kept seeking. And she waited until God answered in His perfect timing.
Don’t give up, loved one. God hears you. He will bless you in His way and in His timing.

Closing Prayer:
Father, thank You for hearing every prayer I bring to You, even the ones that feel unanswered right now. Help me trust Your timing even when I cannot see what You are doing. Like Hannah, give me the strength to keep believing and keep seeking You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Affirmation: God is never late. What feels like delay is often Him preparing something greater than you imagined.
