“Cast your cares on Him for He cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV
Have you ever caught yourself lying awake at night turning a problem over and over in your mind, trying to figure out how to fix it, control it, or at least understand it? Most of us have. Worry can feel productive — like we’re doing something — but the truth is, worry is simply us trying to do God’s job.
Joyce Meyer puts it perfectly: “Worry is our work trying to do God’s job.”
Think about that for a moment. When we worry we are essentially telling God — “I don’t trust You to handle this, so I’ll take over.” But friend, we were never equipped to carry what only God can carry. Our shoulders are too small. Our understanding too limited. Our vision too short.
God’s Word gives us a better way. Not suppressing our fears or pretending everything is fine — but bringing every worry, every fear, every uncertainty directly to Him in prayer. With thanksgiving. With trust. With the confidence that He who holds the universe in His hands is more than capable of handling what is breaking your heart today.
Your responsibility is to humble yourself, do what is yours to do, and then release the rest into His hands. That releasing — that act of trust — is where peace lives. Not the peace the world offers, which depends on circumstances going our way. But the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding. A peace that stands guard over your heart and mind even when nothing around you has changed.
He cares for you. Not in a general, distant way — but personally, specifically, and deeply. The same God who numbers the hairs on your head knows exactly what you are carrying today. And He is saying to you right now — “Give it to Me. I’ve got this.”
So today, whatever worry has been stealing your peace — lay it down. Trade your anxiety for prayer. Trade your fear for thanksgiving. And receive the peace that only He can give.

Watch: Cure for Worry — Trusting God & Casting Your Cares
Closing Prayer:
Father, I confess that I have been carrying things that were never mine to carry. Today I choose to cast my cares on You — every worry, every fear, every uncertainty. Thank You for caring for me personally and deeply. Guard my heart and mind with Your peace that passes all understanding. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Affirmation: You were not made to carry this alone. Cast it on Him — He cares for you. 🤍
