You Are More Than You Know

“And if children, then heirs โ€” heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.” โ€” Romans 8:17

Have you ever looked in the mirror and felt like what you saw wasn’t worth very much? Have you ever sat quietly with the weight of feeling invisible, forgotten, or simply not enough? If so, this truth was written for you โ€” and it changes everything.

The moment you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, something happened that your feelings may not have caught up with yet. You didn’t just receive forgiveness. You didn’t just get a second chance. You were adopted into the family of God โ€” and with that adoption came a full inheritance. Not a partial one. Not a conditional one. A complete, irrevocable inheritance shared with Jesus Himself.

Think about what that means. The same Jesus who spoke the world into existence, who calmed the storm with a word, who rose from the grave on the third day โ€” that Jesus calls you a joint heir. Not a servant. Not a distant relative. A co-heir. An equal recipient of everything the Father has promised. You share in His glory, His promises, and His standing before God.

This is not something you earned. It is not something you deserved. It is what God โ€” in His extravagant, unstoppable love โ€” chose to give you the moment you said yes to His Son. Your low self-esteem, your past mistakes, your insecurities โ€” none of them disqualify you. Because your inheritance was never based on what you did. It was based on what He did.

You are not an afterthought. You are not on the edges of God’s family looking in. You are seated at the table, named in the will, and called by the Father โ€” His very own child.

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God โ€” and that is what we are!” โ€” 1 John 3:1

Father, help me to see myself the way You see me. Not through the lens of my failures or my feelings โ€” but through the truth of Your Word. Remind me today that I am Your child, Your heir, and Your beloved. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Affirmation: You are not just saved โ€” you are an heir of God and a joint heir with Jesus Christ. Walk like it.
